It may or may not surprise you to know that so many of the most successful business owners, those who are doing SO well, and making millions of dollars or close to it… are still struggling with self doubt, imposter syndrome, low self esteem, anxiety, self sabotaging thoughts and depression…regularly.
I have conversations with high performers every single week around these things, and I wanted to share a bit about it because honestly when I was growing my business and feeling terrified about all these things, I always thought that when I got to a certain level of success, it would all go away…NOT THE CASE, AS IT TURNS OUT.
The main difference between people that still manage to build and grow a successful brand and company even though they feel all these yucky feels, is that they:
Have someone to talk to about it, or practice journaling and working on themselves regularly.
Feel the fear and do it anyway, knowing that facing a fear is the best (and only) way to overcome it, and that growth is always going to be uncomfortable and on the other side of doing the scary thing.
Eventually when you’ve been in business long enough and you’ve been through a significant amount of trauma, you tend to build up a bit of a tolerance for it (at least that’s been the case for me).Not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing honestly but I’ve turned it into a strength as I’m now able to help others through it and love doing so.
So today this is your reminder that even if you are not feeling your best, even if your mind is full of thoughts and doubts that are holding you back…You’re still capable of doing incredible things and being an incredible human.
