Last night I was having a conversation with a business owner who has 50 employees, and he wanted to know if, as a business consultant, I could give any advice…

I first of all asked him what he wanted right now, and what he was trying to achieve.

He couldn’t really answer it clearly, but he could tell me what he didn’t want (because that was what was on his mind the most), and it was that he was struggling with feeling out of touch.

He had so many employees he didn’t know them all, and he didn’t know what was going on in some parts of his business, he felt out of the loop with the clients too, because now his role was being CEO / Visionary.

Firstly, it’s normal to feel this sense of loss or identity shift when your business no longer needs you working in it…

I liken it to when your kids grow up and leave home.
“Who am I now; what do I do?”

But secondly, if you don’t know what’s going on in any area of your business and you keep worrying about it or have to keep checking in with people, there’s room for improvement there too by implementing a “PUSH NOTIFICATION” system.

Meaning; it’s someone’s job in your business to make sure you get all the information you want or need, and “pushing” it to you, regularly.

So that you don’t have to keep worrying about things and checking in with people.

Add as many things as you want to know to the list of things you want and then assign the role to someone to collect the info from any department or team member and make sure it is delivered to you on time.

Your energy is most important as a VISIONARY and needs to be protected so that you stay focussed on the important things and also stay in a good frame of mind so you can lead your team and your business into the future.

And if you find yourself thinking mostly about what you don’t want VS where you want to be going…

You’ll need to create a system or make a change that fixes those issues so you can start moving forwards again. 🤗
